Stone Mountain Park: Stone Mountain Park is one of Atlanta’s most popular attractions, and it’s easy to see why. Only a 30-minute drive from the Downtown area, this family-friendly park includes a granite monolith, a cable car, a scenic train ride, a museum, golf courses and hiking trails. There are also a number of shows, such as 4D movies and a laser show.
Sweetwater Creek State Park: A 25-minute drive away, Sweetwater Creek State Park is a scenic and peaceful wilderness park. There was once a mill belonging to the New Manchester Manufacturing Company, but it was burned down during the Civil War. You can still see the ruins of the mill from a number of hiking trails.
