Lluc Sanctuary: Only an hour’s drive from Palma de Mallora (the island’s capital) is Mallorca’s most sacred site. The Lluc Sanctuary is a former monastery in the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains. The sanctuary became a place of pilgrimage after a wooden statue of the Virgin Mary was found in a cleft in the rock. Over the years, the monastery was built to honour the statue. Now, the complex is made up of an ornate chapel, a hill-top cross, a museum, a hotel and several restaurants. Walk up to the hill-top cross to enjoy spectacular views of the mountains.
Western Water Park: Just a 20-minute drive from Palma in the resort of Magaluf, Western Water Park is an attraction the whole family can enjoy. Themed around the Wild West, the water park includes adrenaline-pumping slides, a cowboy show, a lazy river and areas dedicated to children. The perfect day out for people of all ages!
S’illot Beach: Is the beach in your resort too busy? Then drive to S’illot beach, one of Mallorca’s hidden gems. Located on the Victoria Peninsula, this secluded, shingle beach draws snorkelers and scuba divers with its cobalt, shallow waters — while the cool pine forests are popular with picnickers and hikers. If you don’t want to bring a picnic, head to the beachside restaurant specialising in local seafood.
