Uppsala: Uppsala is a university town just over an hour’s drive north of Stockholm. Considered one of the most budget-friendly places in Sweden, this lively town boasts a castle, the largest and tallest cathedral in Scandinavia, a botanical garden and an ancient burial ground. Drottningholm Palace: Around 12 kilometres from Stockholm on the Island of Lovön, Drottningholm Palace is Sweden’s best-preserved royal residence. Built in the 17th century, the palace is now the permanent residence of the Swedish royal family and a UNESCO Wold Heritage Site. Highlights include; lavish saloons, a Chinese pavilion, a theatre and a Baroque garden.
Nynäshamn: The southern-most point of the Stockholm archipelago, Nynäshamn is a picturesque fishing town that is popular with surfers, horse-riders and kayakers. Only 45 minutes from Stockholm by car, you can get back to nature by fishing, playing a round of golf or relaxing on the beach. There are also a number of popular restaurants serving Nordic cuisine.
