Why rent a car in Tel Aviv with

We are more than just a comparison site: we deal with car hire companies directly, bringing you the cheapest prices on car hire. Many of the prices on our site are exclusive to us, so you won’t find the same great offers elsewhere. You will find a wide range of cars on our site, from suppliers like Eldan, Hertz, Sixt and Budget. Don’t forget to use the handy filters to narrow down the search results based on your needs.

Top Tips

  • From November to April, headlights must be switched on when driving, even during the day.
  • To drive in Israel, a valid driver’s licence from the country of origin is required. There is no need for an international driver’s licence.
  • Rush hour in Tel Aviv can be extremely busy. The Ayalon Highway is notorious for congestion and should be avoided Sunday to Thursday from 7:00am until 10:00am and 3:30pm until 6:30pm.

Which companies offer best value in Tel Aviv?

Some car hire companies, such as Thrifty, have special offers on their cars — so you could get an additional driver or a GPS at no extra cost. You will see which cars these sorts of offers apply to once you search on our site. To see which companies people have the best rental experience with, take a look at the ratings and reviews next to each listing. We are impartial, that’s why we want you to have access to honest, helpful advice before you decide who to rent with.

Day trips from Tel Aviv

Judean Hills: One of Israel’s most scenic areas, the Judean hills are just under one hour’s drive from Tel Aviv. Home to the Ella Valley (the scene of countless biblical events, including the battle of David and Goliath), this unspoilt landscape is dotted with vineyards and wineries. One of the best ways to explore this fascinating region is to take a biking or hiking tour of the area.

Haifa: Haifa is Israel’s third-largest city, and can be reached in just over an hour when driving from Tel Aviv. There are many reasons to visit this area, including the glorious Bahá'í Gardens on Mount Carmel’s northern slope. Considered to be one of the top sights in the Middle East, and one of Israel’s top ten must-sees, this World Heritage Site consists of 19 terraces and attracts nearly half a million visitors each year.

Caesarea National Park: The Caesarea National Park is one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Israel. The site can be reached in around one hour when driving from Tel Aviv. The beautifully restored harbour was built by King Herod, and to this day is still viewed as an engineering marvel. Caesarea also has some fantastic beaches, including the Aqueduct Beach which is considered to be one of the best in Israel.
