At Rentalcars.com, we make hiring a car in Los Angeles straightforward and hassle-free — just as it should be. Simply tell us when you want to rent, and we will compare prices on a wide range of cars (including nifty compact cars and convertibles such as the Ford Mustang Cabrio) from a number of well-known car hire brands (like Thrifty and Alamo). You can filter the search results to quickly find your perfect hire car, while the customer reviews next to each listing will let you know which brands people trust the most. Don’t forget: many of the deals on our site are exclusive to us, so you won’t find the same cheap prices anywhere else.
Certain brands like Dollar and National often have special offers on their cars, such as a free GPS or additional drivers over the age of 25 at no extra cost. However, we understand freebies aren’t everything — you want to be sure the company offers a great rental experience. To help you decide who to rent with, you can see feedback from previous customers next to each car. We ask them to rate the company in seven key areas (such as the cleanliness of the car and the efficiency of the counter staff), so you get honest, impartial advice that will assist your decision.

Known for its fantastic conservation efforts, the zoo is home to more than 650 species and subspecies (including giant pandas, grizzly bears, gorillas and giraffes) — and is voted the best zoo in the world. The zoo also pioneered the concept of cage-free exhibits in a bit to recreate natural habitats for the animals, while providing a unique experience for visitors.
Laguna Beach: The picturesque seaside city of Laguna Beach is just an hour’s drive from Los Angeles. To burn some calories, head to 1000 Steps Beach (the clue for how to access the beach is in the name, although the amount of steps is actually only around 220!) — then reward your efforts with a spot of sunbathing. Animal-lovers should visit the Pacific Marine Mammal Centre, where you can see rescued seals and sea lions before they’re released back into the wild.
Big Bear Lake: Big Bear Lake has plenty of activities for you to enjoy all year round, so there’s never a bad time to visit. You can make your visit as relaxing or as energetic as you like, with activities ranging from leisurely hikes and bike rides along the woodland trails, to water sports such as wakeboarding, jet skiing, parasailing and kayaking. In the winter, the resort becomes a haven for skiers and snowboarders (with more than 430 skiable acres across Snow Summit and Bear Mountain). Big Bear Lake is just a two-hour drive from Los Angeles.
