Why rent a car in Dusseldorf with Rentalcars.com?

We are more than just a comparison site: we are a complete end-to-end service, here to make hiring a car in Dusseldorf hassle-free. Our team deal with brands like Avis, Hertz and Europcar directly, so they can give you the best prices on a wide range of cars. And, if you do find the same car from the same supplier at a cheaper rate elsewhere, we will beat it. Just use the simple search form to tell us when you need a car, and we will compare prices across all the different car groups. Don’t forget to filter the results to find the car best-suited to your needs.

Top Tips

  • During rush hour and when there are major events (such as trade fairs), the roads in Dusseldorf can become highly congested.
  • There are plenty of parking lots in this German city, and most are well signposted with electronic signs stating the number of spaces available.
  • If driving on the autobahn, remember that most do have speed restrictions. If you see a white sign with three lines running diagonally through it, then there is no speed limit.

Which companies offer best value in Dusseldorf?

We ask previous customers to leave ratings and reviews about the company who supplied their car, and you can see their feedback next to each listing: that way, you can see how each company compares in terms of value for money and overall customer satisfaction. We are impartial, and your rental experience really matters to us. If you want to avoid hidden fuel costs, we recommend booking a car with a full-to-full fuel policy; as long as you refill the tank just before the rental is over, you won’t have to pay anything extra for fuel.

Day trips from Dusseldorf

Schloss Dyck: Located just half an hour from Dusseldorf, Schloss Dyck is a moated castle on the Lower Rhine. Built in the 17th century on four islands, this castle complex lies at the heart of an English-style landscaped park. Visitors can enjoy a number of well-designed gardens, peek inside the castle’s state rooms and have tea in the Orangery. There are also a number of temporary exhibitions on gardening and garden art to be enjoyed throughout the year.

Bonn: Only an hour’s drive from Dusseldorf, Bonn is one of the oldest cities in Germany. As the birthplace of composer Ludwig van Beethoven and the temporary capital of West Germany, the city is steeped in history and culture. A visit to Bonn is not complete without visiting the childhood home of Beethoven and one of the five museums on Museum Mile.

Ahr Valley: The Ahr Valley is just less than a two-hour drive south of Dusseldorf, and is one of the Rhine’s tributaries. The hills of the valley are terraced with vineyards which grow grapes that make a velvety red wine. Take a hike on the Red Wine Trail, or get the bike out for the Ahr Cycle Route. If you are looking for panoramic vistas of this wine-making valley, head up the AhrSteig Trail.
