Europcar and Bargain Car Rentals are just two of the companies who sometimes have special offers on their cars — where you can get a free bike rack or additional drivers at no extra cost. However, we understand there is more to good value than special offers: you also want to be sure the company has a good reputation. To assist your decision when choosing who to rent with, we show ratings and reviews from previous customers next to each listing.

Day trips from Launceston

Woolmers Estate: Delve into the rich history of colonial life in Tasmania at Woolmers Estate. Located 30 kilometres away, this early settler estate has been part of the Thomas Archer family for six generations. Woolmers gives you an insight into how a 19th-century rural settlement functioned, from the grand house of the owners to the accommodation and working practices of the convicts.

Hollybank Reserve: Launceston is known to be one of the best places in the world for mountain biking, and some of the most exciting trails can be found in Hollybank Reserve. Only a 20-minute drive away, this reserve has recently had an official bike park installed — now there are more than 20 kilometres of trails, the most famous being a blue run called Juggernaut.

Narawntapu National Park: The Narawntapu National Park is a dramatic coastal refuge only 60 kilometres from Launceston. Made up of beaches, sand dunes, inlets, wetlands and lagoons, Narawntapu is home to an astonishing array of plants and animals — and is considered one of the best wildlife spotting areas in the state. You may even see a Tasmanian devil!
