The Alfa Romeo Guiletta fantastic car, and though powerful, used almost no fuel in the 4 days we used it.

Very nice car and able to pick up and drop where we wanted. Very helpful staff.
No petrol at Bologna Airport and not informed of this by Europcar staff who could have easily advised nearest petrol stations to airport to use.

Time of the service on both ways was really good, explanation of all details very accurate, short distance from the desk to the car.
It wasn’t cheap with this kind of the car as for the same money I would get VW Golf in other renting companies, and Fiesta which I had was so weak that it should not be used on mountains at all, really hard to get on the top of the hills. Apart from those I would say that it was good experience in overall.

No provision of instructions on operation of car. Little opportunity for familiarisation before being released on to the roads of Catania.

Quick no hassel rental.
Difficulty of finding the rental office in Florence. A zoom-in map with the booking confirmation showing the closest railway station / airport would help tremendously.

Helpfulness of Europcar telephone helpdesk when needed to extend period of car hire.
Chose Europcar and the class of vehicle because I specifically needed a certain size of luggage compartment. Didn't get the same model vehicle, although the same class ... and the luggage compartment was smaller than required

When I saw that the insurance purchased online during the reservation was a "" insurance, and not a "Europcar" insurance, I felt deceived. I would have wished that the insurance paid would be from the rental company, or at least that the guarantees (insurance deductible) would have been equal. I would ask a better communication.

car we ordered. good condition, virtually new. Very efficient return service, return check took only a couple of minutes.
Not clear how to get car out through barrier from Europcar area of car park- but helpfully advised by staff in car return office on the same level. Surprised to pay extra for roadside assistance. When I have used Europcar in the past this has been part of the rental deal.

Friendly staff.
Outside of the car was dirty (inside was clean). We had to ask the staff to clean it, which they helpfully did (but it was a 30 min delay). The windscreen washer water was empty.
