Was given an automatic which would have been my preference except it was 2x the cost! Also a diesel which was more economical.
Automatic option was 2x the cost! Ridiculous! I chose manual but was delighted to get an auto.

Directions to return the car to Lyon Perrache station were really unclear, and we were given the wrong post code. We got completely lost which was very stressful.

Replacement Yaris Hybrid was very good and drop off very quick at Marseille.
First car issued (Fiesta) had a defective cigarette lighter and did not power our Sat Nav. Only realised when in centre of Lyon when the battery was flat.Sixt Rental at Lyon railway station could not repair the fault or exchange the car - we had to return to Lyon Airport for a replacement.This exchange lost the first 24 hours of our holiday & fuel.

Automatic car really a pleasure to drive. Office staff extremely helpful. Extra driver charge seemed reasonable.
The hybrid engine mechanism often meant that in towns pedestrians didn't hear your approach.

Excellent bilingual staff
I had a minor accident which could have meant changing the tyre...In the end I found a volvo dealer who said it was not necessary but I wonder if sixt might team up with a mobile repair company? Just a suggestion

Brand new car, and therefore very clean. Being a Seat Leon, it was slightly larger than the VW Polo I had booked.
Why are wheels always alloy and therefore have the potential for curb damage - steels are better on a hire car ? Snow chains were too expensive, didn't use them after all, and had to wait for Sixt to find some. Winter tyres are too expensive to book, but would have been nice since I was going to the alps. Others offer them inclusive at Geneva.

Efficiency and pleasantness of staff
The exterior of the car was filthy with dust when I picked it up. The staff member shrugged off my complaint : "Oh, it has been windy with dust and rain!"

I had booked a 7 seater, but the car supplied came with a tonneau cover which meant 2 seats could not be used, so I had to upgrade.

The representative at the Sixt desk was really helpful. He set up the car to work in English and programmed the sat nav to take us to our destination, so we were very pleased.

The staff were helpful and efficient, we were able to collect and drop off the car in just a few minutes.
The car was a little dirty on the outside, however it was lovely to drive and in great condition inside so we were very pleased.
