What is a 'people carrier' in car rental?

What is a 'people carrier' in car rental?

Rental companies change their fleet frequently, and they often don’t know precisely which cars will be available because some cars will need cleaning, servicing, repairing and replacing. This is why every rental car has ‘or similar’ next to the make and model you’re looking at.

If you choose to rent a people carrier, the ‘or similar’ options will be other people carriers.

Helping you compare: people carriers

Because these cars may have a variety of different equipment levels, engine sizes, dimensions, passenger space and luggage space, they’re often placed into smaller subcategories determined by the number of seats the vehicle has.

If what you’ve booked isn’t available, the company will try to supply an alternative from the same sub category to fulfil your booking.

Here are some examples of people carriers.
