"Not working in Brazil! 33 % more expensive than promised"
I reserved a car in Brazil - GRU airport. It should be Alamo, but there is no ALAMO and everything is redirected to UNIDAS.
The promised price was not kept when returning the car. They charged 33% more expensive.
Rentalcars.com argues that they cannot do anything, because the contract would have been directly with UNIDAS....
This seems to be a nice mixture of Rentalcars and Brazilian Business. Never again!

I had a bad experience with my reservation in rentalcars. I had the possibility to change my reservation until the lift the car, but, they didn't meet to I could do it. I lost money. So, in my next travel, I will not book with Rentalcars.

Os procedimentos do aluguer foram muito eficientes e rápidos. O carro estava em óptimo estado e era de um escalão superior ao que eu requisitei.
O facto de me sobrecarregarem com uma taxa de pneus de inverno é que não me caíu muito bem, mas estávamos na Suiça.
A taxa diária para aluguer um GPS também me pareceu exagerada e por isso não aderi.

"Excelente price and everything as described online"
We rented a car from Sicily By Car trough Rentalcars.com and were very worried after reading a lot of bad reviews about the company (Sicily By Car). We even tried do cancel the reservation loosing money so much worried we were. The Rentalcars` team was so suportive and gave us the confidence to try it before judging by other people`s experience. Our own was so good: the car was excelent, everything went the way it was described online. It was easy to get it in Linate Airport, the shop is not called Sycili By Car it is an office with four other car rental companies, so don`t try to find a place with this name on it. It was also very easy to give it back and we delivered it very early in the morning, at 6 am. A very positive surprise: it was a car moved by diesel and we saved some money because of that. Another good point: everything was explained clearly. One thing that we didn`t understand, even though explained, was that the second driver had to be charged from the beginning, but my wife came to join me ten days later. Something that we missed were especial snow tires, they would have been very useful if we knew it before renting, but the mandatory chains were included for free. At the end, we are really very satisfied with this experience.

I used a good vehicle ( Criesler Town and Country). We have come over 1200 milhas in the regions of Florida and California , with comfort and security. Five adults and a child, with many bags . We traveled with dry and rainy weather , both at night and during the day.Excelente vehicle and great experience .

"A trickery/sham and absurd service."
During the booking for a recent trip in Brazil, I unfortunately chose to use Rentalcars.com
The following issues occurd that led me to believe this website is out to simply cheat the regular consumer:
Price: The price I was quoted was DOUBLE to what was available directly at Localisa.
Conditions: I had originally requested unlimited kilometers, because I knew I was going to be driving (over a 6 day period) more than 1400km.
When I arrived at Localise they advised me that the deal only included 200km per day. As Localisa was unable to change this we tried to contact rentalcars a number of times (also with the Localisa agent before taking the car), but nobody ever answered the phones. Localisa advised us to contact them once the car was picked up (we had to move on with our travel). Over the next couple of days we tried to contact rentalcars and often waited for up to 40 minutes before giving up and deciding to try again later.
When returning the car we finally managed with the help of Localisa to contact the Rio number of rentalcars.com to only be told, that their system showed 200km/day and that now it was too late to change anything. The agent was completely unhelpful!!
All in all, I feel completely gutted, and frankly ripped off by the service. The website was not clear for one, but what's worse is that when trying to contact the company to change this (even if we would have had to pay a small extra) we were not able to.
I feel like we were sold a bad service, and then the phones are ignored to stop customers complaining and resolving the issues. Localisa tried to be very helpful but there was nothing they could do because an intermediary was in the middle. We were therefore stuck between a rock and a hard place - completely helpless.
Based on this experience I would strongly DISCOURAGE any customer from using Rentalcars.com.
My advice: CONTACT THE CAR RENTAL COMPANY DIRECTLY. DON'T USE A INTERMEDIARY.

This was the third time that I rented a car with Rentalcars. Before and after the rental everyfhing was perfect.
The explanatios about the insurance were clear
Advices during the booking helped to save money due price oscilation and they deposited money back in my card.
During the rental in Italy, due a misunderstanding of my part, I did not communicate the rental company about a flat tyre and the case was analysed after tbe rental and the reinbursement was fast.
I have already one more rental for this month

"Be prepared to have your CC plafond locked for huge amount for a few days"
This was the first time a rent a car through rentalcars. Everything was great until...the moment you pick up the car. It happened in Bologna airport last 17/June with Enterprise. At that moment I was asked to lock an amount of €2.100 in my credit card to cover possible damages in the vehicle during the renting period. This was totally annoying. Once I travel a lot I needed to call my bank to increase mi CC plafond. Rentalcars must inform clearly the amount to be blocked to their customers. The same way I was informed by Enterprise about this value Rentalcars should previously ask the rental company about this value in order to accuratelly inform their customers about this. This is not a small detail. This is an important information to be shared with rentalcars customers before their trip starts.

People from AVIS where very friendly and helpfull, and told me that I could change the car I previous rented if I had changed my mind, but everything was OK with my reservation. Place to pick up the car and return in Malpensa airport is very easy to find, well indicated. The car was very clean, almost new and very nice to drive.

"Worst experience EVER with any company"
I booked to rent a car while on holiday in Croatia this August, and paid for everything online, with my UK debit card.
When arriving at the location, they asked me for a credit card, although I had paid for everything already. I knew it would be for the deposit, thus why I explained they could take money from my card, or they go in overdraft, or I could leave cash. The guy on the other said was like that sketch "Computer says no". After trying to call rentalcars.com with no reply, the guy at the location said he'd cancel the reservation if we wanted to book a local rental company, which we did.
Only after coming back, and emailing rentalcars.com over and over and over again, they said they were keeping ALL the money I paid for, 250€ in total, when I didn't even SEE the car.
Again, every person on the other side of the email was extremely unflexible, and basically copy and pasting the terms and conditions on their website.
I would accept a cancellation fee, but it is STEALING to keep all the money I paid for, when I didn't even use the service.
I will keep fighting for this through other methods, since their customer service is useless.

otima empresa, tinha pago o seguro completo online, mais para tirar o carro da locadora tinha que deixar ulm calçao de 1500 euros ou o pagar o seguro da locadora 153 euros.preferi pagar o seguro da locadora por ser mais facil, e a rentacar me reembolsou o seguro que tinha pago online sem nem uma chatice e nem dor de cabeça.... fiquei muito feliz, pois levaram o cliente a frente do dinheiro parabens otimo trabalho
