Charles De Gaulle (CDG)

Address:

95700 Paris, France

France’s largest international airport, Paris Charles de Gaulle is the main gateway into the capital. Many visitors pick up a hire car at the airport, so they can explore the city and make the most of the extensive road links to the rest of France.

Around 23km (14 miles) north-east of the capital, Paris Charles de Gaulle is the second-busiest airport in Europe after Heathrow. The airport boasts three passenger terminals, served by a wide range of airlines from around the world (including Delta, Lufthansa, KLM and British Airways). Each year, the terminals see more than 62 million people, many of whom come to us in search of a great car hire deal.

Finding a great deal

We compare many well-known car hire companies at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (including Budget, Avis, Hertz, InterRent and Firefly), giving you access to exclusive car hire deals — with no credit card charges.

We believe hiring a car should be hassle-free, from the booking process right through to hitting the road in Paris. To give you confidence that you are hiring with a trusted company, we ask customers to provide feedback on their overall rental experience: so you get impartial advice that will help you make a well-informed choice.

Hidden charges are a common worry for people booking a hire car. But, if you book a car with a full-to-full fuel policy (there are plenty of cars with this policy at Paris Charles de Gaulle), you will avoid paying any extra fuel fees when you drop the car off, as long as you refill the tank just before your rental is over.

We provide all the information you need upfront, so you know exactly what you are getting for your money — meaning no nasty surprises when you get to the rental counter.

Choice of cars

Whether you want something small or spacious, there is an excellent range of hire cars for you to choose from. Finding your perfect car is even easier with the help of our handy filters; you can narrow down the results based on size, specifications, fuel policy, supplier, rating and pick-up location.

If you are going to be doing lots of city driving, one of the mini or economy cars could be ideal (especially if you don’t need much space for luggage or passengers). Compact cars are another good choice for driving in busy, urban areas.

For something a little roomier, take a look at the intermediate and standard cars (which can generally hold two large bags and one small bag). Estate cars (which usually hold three large bags) are fantastic family-sized vehicles — and if you need a car with even more space, there are people carriers too.

Tips and advice

  • 1
If you are driving into the city centre, follow the signs for the A1 when leaving the airport. The A1 will take you to the Boulevard Périphérique (the ring road around Paris).
  • 2
Some of the car hire companies we work with have in-terminal pick-up counters, giving you the easiest possible start to your trip.
  • 3
The airport can be busy all year round. You might want to have one person wait for your suitcases at the carousel, while the driver heads to the rental counter — this can help get your trip off to a quick start.
  • 4
Book your hire car as far in advance as possible, as popular cars are likely to sell out quickly.
